Jen Lawlor
Membership & Annual Fund Manager

Jen received her bachelor’s degree from Notre Dame College in Manchester, New Hampshire, where she majored in commercial art.  After college, she worked for Graphique de France, a leading publisher of fine stationery, calendars and prints, starting in customer service and working her way to Museum Product Development and Sales Manager.  In this position she worked with museums nationwide to hone images from their collections for consideration for special publishing projects, as well as assisting the gift shop buyers with their purchases from Graphique’s core selections.

This led her to work with Museum Enterprise Partners, a start-up venture for the wholesale and retail division of Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and eventually, the Addison Gallery of American Art at Phillips Academy, Andover, where she worked as the coordinator for administration and special events, supporting the director and director of development with membership, annual appeals and special events such as opening receptions and formal dinners.

Originally from Massachusetts, Jen recently relocated to Maine in search of a different pace and more green space.  For a short time, she worked for the Portland Symphony as annual appeal coordinator.  She applied to the Gardens because it blended so many of her interests, including gardening, art, music and dance, with an emphasis on education and preservation.

Some of her happiest childhood memories are of watching her parents plan out their vegetable and flower gardens, ordering through the bulb and seed catalogs, visiting garden centers, “harvesting” with her sisters and brother, and canning with her mother and grandmother.  Being in education and publishing, her parents knew the importance of learning.  Jen is thrilled that through her work with membership and the annual appeal, she is helping to support exciting programs and experiences for our visitors.
