Valerie Tu\’ineau
Marketing Assistant

Valerie Tu’ineau is a recently Returned Peace Corps Volunteer.  She served two years in the Kingdom of Tonga, where her primary assignment was teaching English at an elementary school in the rural village of Kolovai.  She also assisted the Kolovai Women’s Development group with grant writing, held fundraising events with her school, and got married!

Although this is Valerie’s first “real” job, she has worked with the Department of Aquatics at the University of Rhode Island, in the Washington DC office of Congressman Tom Allen, and in various Boothbay Harbor restaurants. Valerie graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in both political science and coastal management.  She enjoys being back in the Boothbay area, where she can often be found walking her Boston terrier, checking out books from the library, or enjoying a hot chai tea.  She’s incredibly excited to join the team at Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, and she looks forward to watching the Gardens bloom!
