Pat Jeremiah
Head Librarian (volunteer)
Within weeks of retiring and moving to Maine in 1998, Pat was volunteering in the office at Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. She overheard a conversation concerning the need for a librarian, and the rest is history. A two-year book drive involving the Federated Garden Clubs of Maine gave the fledgling library a wonderful start, and it continues to grow and be visited.
Pat’s previous jobs had seen her in a middle school library and owning a gardening business for 15 years, so this shift to the Gardens was quite seamless. However, gardening on a rocky, wooded cliff in Maine presented new challenges, so she became certified as a Master Gardener in 1999. As the Gardens grew, so did her areas of volunteerism, one of her favorites being a storyteller during the summer.
Pat feels so fortunate in having been part of the amazing growth at Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens during the past 10 years. The Gardens are a magical place to her, and she delights in spreading the word wherever she is.
