Maine Educator Day

August 20, 2019 all-day

Attention Maine teachers! Explore Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens for free this August 20, and discover fun-filled ways to incorporate nature and the Gardens into your lesson plans. Enjoy our beautiful garden settings and late summer blooms while discovering new spaces where students can connect to nature through life sciences, botanical arts, and natural and cultural history. The Gardens is a place for learning, investigation and discovery for all ages – visit us on this free day and become inspired by the many ways you might integrate CMBG into your class curriculum.

For Educator Day, Maine K-12 teachers are invited to visit Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens for free, exploring at their leisure. Stroll through the Native Butterfly and Moth House to get up-close and personal with native butterflies and moths in all life stages, discover pollywogs and pollinators in action in the Bibby and Harold Alfond Children’s Garden, explore our Maine woods and Fairy Village along the coastal shoreline, or hone your senses in the Lerner Garden of the Five Senses in our central gardens. Join Erika Huber, CMBG Youth & Family Program Coordinator, at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. in the Bosarge Family Education Center for a quick overview of our indoor and outdoor learning and classroom spaces.

Reservations are not required to participate in this event. To receive free admission, simply present your Maine school ID or verification of educator status upon arrival. Educators and one guest will have free admission all day on August 20.
