Just when cabin fever is at its peak, Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens will provide a dose of spring with a visit to the Boston Flower & Garden Show on Wednesday, March 14. Executive Director Bill Cullina will be on board the motor coach, and everyone on the trip can take part in a Q&A session with him on the way to Boston. Those who wish, may also spend an hour or so shopping or sightseeing at Faneuil Hall from 1:00-3:30, while the remainder of the group continues to enjoy the show.
This year’s theme, “First Impressions,” will showcase ways to express one’s personality and style as well as add enjoyment and value to one’s property. The show will once again be at the Seaport World Trade Center. Because the 14th is the first day of this much-awaited event, the displays will be as fresh and new as can be and vendors’ booths will be fully stocked with appealing items for the home and garden.
As with the trip that proved so popular in past years, expert Gardens staff members will be among the participants. Transportation will be provided on a deluxe motor coach, with several departure points. When you register, please indicate which of the following four stops you prefer: 7:00 a.m. at the Gardens, Barters Island Road, Boothbay; 7:45 a.m. at the Topsham Fair Mall in front of Village Candle (I-295 Exit 31); 8:15 a.m. in Portland (I-295 Exit 7, Marginal Way at Franklin Arterial); and 8:50 a.m. in Wells (Maine Tpk. Exit 19, at Wells Transportation Center). The motor coach will leave the show at 4 p.m. and return passengers to their pick-up points around suppertime.
The price includes round-trip transportation and admission to the show, as well as the optional side trip to Faneuil Hall. Because space is limited, making reservations early is advised. To sign up now, call 207-633-4333, ext. 101, or reserve online (see below).
