|1:00 pm||to||4:00 pm|
Co-sponsored by the Maine Arborist Association
On this day dedicated to planting and celebrating trees, come to Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens to learn proper tree-planting techniques from Tim Lindsay of Bartlett Tree Experts, president of the Maine Arborist Association, and Kyle Rosenberg, also of the Maine Arborist Association. During an informal demonstration, with questions encouraged, they’ll plant a tree with a traditional root ball and also show a bare-root planting. You’ll learn from Tim how to plant for success, based on research conducted in Bartlett’s North Carolina research lab – and his own years of experience, of course!
The planting demonstration will be followed by a walk with the two instructors and Director of Horticulture Rodney Eason to look at examples of tree plantings in the gardens. In the spirit of National Arbor Day, the first 25 participants to register will go home with a small paper-birch seedling to plant at home.
