In the fabulous two-acre Bibby and Harold Alfond Children’s Garden, which opened in 2010, kids and their grown-ups discover and enjoy numerous delights. There’s feature after feature offering opportunities for active play and learning or quiet reading and contemplation. Whales spray, dragons “growl,” and a bronze bear roams the Blueberry Islands. There are boats to climb in, a maze to conquer, and a tree house with a rope bridge to cross. The Story Barn is full of wonderful books, and Storytime in the Garden is another great way for kids to experience reading. A coop nearby holds live chickens. In this exuberant garden, flowers and plants are in every size, color, and shape. But even the best photos can’t do justice to this masterpiece. Please visit soon to see it for yourself!
