Most Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens staff members have pets of their own, and we all understand that our visitors often travel with their four-legged friends. However, because dogs and cats are not a good fit with valuable plants and lawns where children play, we find it necessary to have a policy for our canine and feline visitors and their people.

Pets are permitted throughout all the parking areas at the Gardens and on the special dog-walking trail adjacent to the largest parking area (follow the signs). Only certified service animals are allowed in other areas of the Gardens property.

There is a water spigot and water dish for pets in the picnic area beside the southern-most parking pod. We appreciate our visitors’ picking up after their dogs, and we have dispensers for plastic bags for waste pick-up and trash bags where you can dispose of the bags.
