Nowhere else in New England can you experience a steam train ride, historical village exhibits and an outstanding collection of over 60 antique vehicles in one museum. The Village exhibits are fascinating and informative, evocative of our rich New England heritage.

Cap’n Fish’s is the originator of whale watching in Boothbay Harbor. Our ships are the most modern in the region and offer a stable ride. The Carousel Music Theater celebrates the amazing singers and composers of popular music from the turn of the century through the 1970’s, as well as the history of Broadway and Movie Musicals from the 1930’s up through present day. The historic 1894 Opera House annually presents over 100 evenings of music and theater. From jazz to folk, Celtic to rock, classical to bluegrass, with nights of theater and lectures, the calendar has something for almost everyone! Reasonably priced tickets. Handicapped accessible. Schooner Eastwind, Boothbay Harbor, (207) 633-6598
Open Memorial Day weekend to October 15; 9:30, 12:00, 3:00 and 6:00 daily sailing.
Eastwind is a 65’, 28-passenger, traditional wooden schooner. We offer 2-hour sailing trips in Boothbay Harbor; $28 per person. Built by Herb and Doris Smith, it is their 4th wooden schooner, a sister ship to the Appledores the sailed around the world. We have 30 years of boat building and sea adventures to share!

The McLaughlin Foundation invites you to come explore the historic home, barn, Garden Gift Shop and Garden Café, as you enjoy the serenity of this Maine treasure. Throughout the year the garden hosts a wide variety of celebrations, seminars, and hands-on workshops.

Merryspring Nature Center, Camden & Rockport, (207) 236-2239

Merryspring’s 66 acres contain gardens of herbs, roses, perennials, annuals, lilies and hostas. Miles of trails wind around wetlands, meadows and through labeled trees, shrubs and ground-covers of the ten-acre Arboretum.  The Ross Center provides a nature library and space for many of the year-round education programs.
Admission is free to the general public. A guided tour can be arranged with advance notice.  Donations accepted.

Pineland Farms is a privately-owned working farm open to the public for exploration, recreation and education. While here visit working dairy, horse, and poultry barns and see cheese being made in our own creamery. Enjoy year-round recreation, stroll through our 1-acre flower garden, and stop into our market to find our cheeses, produce, natural meats, organic eggs, and much more.
Groups can arrange a trolley tour of farm & gardens for $6pp. Indoor & outdoor venues accommodate groups for lunches, lobster bakes, or dinners. Luxury accommodations are available in our six guest houses.

Pine Tree State Arboretum, Augusta, (207) 621-0031

At the Pine Tree State Arboretum you’ll find a collection of some 3,000 trees, shrubs and flowers in formal settings or in the wild, distributed over some 224 acres of fields, wetlands and woods, and reachable by a series of well-maintained trails. There is great bird-watching here, too. A variety of animals make the woods and ponds their home. Group tours are welcome. A variety of themed presentations and walks is available by pre-arrangement.
Group prices depend upon the itinerary and activities any particular group chooses to pursue. Bus drivers and tour leaders participate for free.
