Ages: 14+ 8-13
Categories: Youth and Family
Location: The Gardens

Can you tell the difference between a rusty-patched and a two-spotted bumble bee? Did you know that some types of wasps and flies are also pollinators? Join us for an exploratory walk with our resident entomologist, Zac Smith-Hess, as students learn how to identify different types of pollinators and discover why early nectar sources are so important in both wild habitats and home gardens. Along the way, students will also learn fun facts about flowers and the remarkable relationships they share with these essential creatures.

Each homeschool ticket includes admission for a child and a chaperone. Any extra adults pay $12/each. Children under 3 are free. Families who register multiple children or enroll in multiple programs will receive a discount at checkout. Financial aid is available; please email Beth Jarvis at ejarvis@mainegardens.org for an application.
