Homeschool Days: Pollinators (Ages 5-12)
Register Now:Have you ever wondered why a garden is filled with different colors, shapes, and even smells? Flowers use a variety of ways to attract pollinators. Participants will be introduced to our different pollinators and their flower preferences, learn about their unique adaptations, and head out into the garden to perform a pollinator survey. Students will also dissect a flower to understand its parts, gaining a deeper understanding of the pollination process and the critical role pollinators play in a plant’s life cycle. At the end of the session, each child will pot up a flower to grow at home. Each homeschool ticket includes admission for a child and a chaperone. Any extra adults pay $12/each. Children under 3 are free. Families who register multiple children or enroll in multiple programs will receive a discount at checkout. Financial aid is available; please email Beth Jarvis at ejarvis@mainegardens.org for an application.
