Register Now:Join horticulturist Lon Ames for a deep dive into many of the ornamental grasses in the Gardens’ collections. Students will learn how to select and care for a variety of native and non-native grasses. Whether you’re looking for ideas for sun or shade, fall color, winter interest, or a unique texture, this class will leave you inspired to incorporate grasses into your own home garden. This class will include time indoors and outdoors.

Lon Ames is a horticulturist at Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens where he maintains the Haney Hillside and Vayo Meditation Garden, both areas he is gradually adding in new grasses each season. He believes there’s a grass for any kind of situation or design you’re trying to do in your home landscape.
