Forest Bathing and Tea (Summer)
Register Now:Deepening your connection to nature through moving meditation offers enormous benefits for personal well-being. In this gentle, sensory-oriented class, students will experience the practice of walking mindfully through a forest to cultivate serenity and awareness. Follow Susan Bickford, certified guide in the Japanese practice of shinrin-yoku—also known as forest bathing or forest therapy—as you learn the tools to begin your own meditation practice. The walk ends with a foraged tea that honors the experience.
Instructor Bio(s)
Susan Bickford, Certified Forest Therapy Guide, leads walks throughout coastal Maine and co-creates an interdisciplinary art-making retreat annually called the (stillness) collective. Susan has many talents connecting her to nature, including Qigong and Astrology. She is a visual arts instructor at the University of Maine at Augusta. A native of Maine, Susan has a strong connection to the flora and fauna in our verdant landscape.
