Homeschool Days: Butterfly Pinning (Ages 9-18)

Step into the fascinating world of entomology with our resident entomologist, Zac Smith-Hess! In this class, participants will learn the art and science of insect preservation. We will cover everything from pinning butterflies to creating display-ready specimens!

Perfect for students, this exploration combines practical skills with insect anatomy and ethical collecting practices, along with tips and tricks to make sure your specimens last. Participants will leave with their pinned butterfly along with a colorful memento made from butterfly wings.

Each homeschool ticket includes admission for a child and a chaperone. Any extra adults pay $12/each. Children under 3 are free. Families who register multiple children or enroll in multiple programs will receive a discount at checkout.
