Homeschool Days: Fall Wildflowers – Pressing & Preserving (Ages 8-18)

Learn beginner botany skills and put them to use as we learn to identify our native asters on a walk through our woodlands. Led by Dylan Dubay of our Plant Science and Collections team, this session includes a look inside our herbarium—a special place where dried plant specimens are stored for scientific study and research. Participants also will learn how to press plants for preservation and get the opportunity to practice mounting a dried plant specimen to take home.

Each homeschool ticket includes admission for a child and a chaperone. Any extra adults pay $12/each. Children under 3 are free and do not need a ticket. Families who register multiple children or enroll in multiple programs will receive a discount at checkout.
