What’s In Bloom – September 5, 2023

What's In Bloom

Late summer flowers are in full bloom at the Gardens! Check out the beautiful toad–lily (Tricyrtis macropoda) blooming in Slater Forest Pond, and the bright yellow flowers of cut–leaf prairie dock (Silphium terebinthinaceum var. pinnatifidum) blooming by the Burpee Kitchen Garden. The showy purple flowers of blazing star (Liatris) are also blooming. The rough blazing star (Liatris aspera) on the Great Lawn and Northern plains blazing star (Liatris ligulistylis) in the Native Butterfly House gardens look especially lovely.
